A couple of "Little Crackers" for Sky One

Simon has written the music for two of the new series of "Little Crackers" for Sky One. The films he worked on were Jack Whitehall's and Sally Lindsay's. Jack reflects on his youthful penchant for dressing up and the effect this had on his straight-laced father, while Sally relives her visit to "Top of the Pops" in 1980 as a member of the St Winifred's School Choir.

Simon attends BBC Music Commissioning Masterclass

Simon was among 10 composers invited by BBC Bristol to attend a music commissioning masterclass on 27th April.   This was a very interesting day, intended to help producers and directors fully understand the process of commissioning music and working with composers.  The composers all gave a talk about their work and had the opportunity to present a range of clips.  Star guest was Nitin Sawnhey who made a presentation about cross-platform composition, performance and production.  Simon had a chance to pay homage to the great man and told him how much he loved his album "Beyond Skin".  Much interesting discussion followed over drinks afterwards between composers and producers/directors.  A very intelligent initiative by by the BBC.

"Good" has opened in cinemas across the UK and Ireland.  One of the chosen venues was the Curzon Mayfair, one of Simon's favourite cinemas.  On April 20th, Faber Music invited selected guests to a screening and drinks at the Curzon.  The evening was a great success with slightly more time allotted for drinking than had been envisaged before the event!  Here is a picture of Simon arriving at the event, enjoying seeing his name in lights...
